| Jamshidi with NIAC at Leadership Conference |

| Jamshidi on BBC |
Just who were the people attending the NIAC Leadership Conference which gave them direct access to roam the halls of our nations Congress? One of the so-called “Iranian-Americans” who attended the NIAC Leadership Conference was Mr. Hammad Djmashidi. PDMI briefly wrote about Mr. Djamshidi on November 27, 2011.

According to Mr. Djamshidi’s own Website: “My name is Hamaad Djamshidi. I was born in Manchester-England in December 1976; grew up in Tehran-Iran; and, currently live in Nottingham-England as a student.” So much for being an “Iranian-American.” One wonders why there is not any screening process in place before non US Citizens are allowed to portray themselves as Iranian-Americans and meet with high ranking decision makers and Congressman on decisions affecting the United States?
Needless to say that NIAC’s own president, Trita Parsi, himself is not an Iranian-American and was born in Iran and migrated to Sweden when he was four years old and now claims to be an Iran expert, representing Iranian-American's interests.
In addition to Hamaad Djmashidi, Trita Parsi’s brother, Rouzbeh Parsi, a "research fellow" at the European Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) was flown in from Europe to attend the Conference as an “Iranian-American,” plus many other Non Iranian-Americans and some perhaps with tourist visas.
Congressman Jim Moran and Alan Eyre of the State Department heard plenty from regime apologists and from the so-called Iranian-Americans. This is how IRI lobby dupe and manipulate our foreign policy decision makers. Their message: The Iranian regime is a pragmatic entity, the U.S. must pursue dialogue and diplomacy, ignore blatant human rights violations by the regime, and Irans' nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

She now works as a consultant at a Washington based management and technology consultancy called Booz Allen Hamilton which has dealings with Iran and helps Iranians and Iranian-American wealthy businessmen remain compliant with Iran sanctions regulations.
PAAIA NexGen member, Shirin Djamshidi was even credited with writing Congressman Honda's Noruz speech. Indeed there is strong network of lawyers and consulting firms that are providing legal guidance to Iranians and Iranian-Americans on how to get around the Iran sanctions. According to Erich Ferrari, "Iranians can have their cake and eat it too!"

Information gathered from the Internet records, show Dr. Ganji does import/export Iranian products such as pickles, lime juice, tomato paste, pomegranates and other food items from Iran to the United States via China and has in fact imported/exported 20 tons worth of food products from Mahram Co. just on one occasion. It remains to be seen why it is sent back to Iran from the United States via China in the same ships.

Obviously, such Iranians aiding NIAC and aided by NIAC along with many other NIAC Leadership Conference attendees (wealthy Iranian elite), do not like seeing any types of sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic, not because they care much for the "ordinary" Iranians, but because since imposing sanctions on Iran directly affects their pocketbooks.
This perhaps also explains why Hammaad and Shirin would want to be affiliated withtwo notorious Iranian-American [lobby] organizations who on the surface pretend to represent Iranian-Americans, but deep down they advocate for policies favorable toward the Islamic Republic to safeguard their personal and financial "self-interests".
Aided by a slew of legal consultants, legal firms, and OFAC compliance and licensing experts, the Djamshidi types along with other Iranian American business elite have learned very well how to legally bypass Iran sanctions and prevent further US sanctions that would hurt their trade with IRI and the United States, no matter how much Iranian people suffer under the current theocracy!
Mr. Mehdi Djamshidi facebook reveals some information about his thinking and ideology. Both father and the son and one might presume that Ms. Shirin Djamshidi are staunch supporters of Khatami and Mir Hossein Mousavi (cureently under house arrest by regime) and supporters for the Palestinian cause.
Their support for the Palestinian cause is noteworthy. That is where Islamists and communists find an ideological common ground. Their antisemitism inevitably surfaces itself by these so called Iranian-American IRI lobby organization with ideological an alignment with anti war, the American leftist and liberal groups. It constitutes a major part of their strategy. Lobbyists like Hooshang Amirahmadi, AIC Director and director of Rutgers' Center for Middle Eastern Studies have claimed that the Islamic Republic has not been affiliated with any terrorist organization and that "neither Hezbollah or Hamas are terrorist Organizations."
Or, Hamid Dabbashi, a professor of Iranian Studies at Columbia and a NIAC board member, who has written that "the Palestinians and [Hezbollah] are resisting the American empire and that Israel must be dismantled." The Islamic Republic spends millions attempting to influence the American Policy using proxy groups, lobbyists, religious organizations and non profit foundations.
Trita Parsi is yet to publicly express an opinion on Hamas and Hezbollah, but if AmirAhmadi (his former boss) and professor Dabashi a NIAC board member comments provide any clues, one can assume that he shares similar ideology.
PDMI has always maintained that the majority of Iranians want the harshest and strictest forms of sanctions against the Islamic Republic, unlike what is posited by NIAC that falsely claims sanctions hurt ordinary Iranians. It is our view that Iranians' living conditions have been deteriorating since 1978, when mullahs assumed power. Today, more that 50% of Iranian live below the poverty line in a country that used to be the envy of the Middle East. Inflation in Iran has been growing at 30% annually and unemployment has never been in single digits, even citing IRI own statistics.
NIAC and many other Iranian-American organizations justify their opposition to sanctions, by unethically and unconscionably putting a "human veneer" to hide their true intentions and safeguard their financial interests. Their conduct, if not illegal, is an immoral, unethical and shameful.
It is perhaps time for the American decision makers to hear from the real Iranian-Americans. We strongly believe any attempts at dialogue and diplomacy with a regime that rapes its own citizens, and builds apartments, banks. hospital and factories at Communist leaning countries while its own citizens go to bed hungry and go to school barefooted, and deprives them the basic human rights is a disgrace.
Thirty three years of dialogue and diplomacy with uneducated criminals who are the sworn enemy of United States is an insane foreign policy eventually with devastating consequences for the United States and beyond.
Congressman Moran told NIAC members, “We need to hear from you.” Iranian Americans “should be the source of our most accurate information on what is going on in Iran.” Congressman Moran is right in a sense that for a robust US foreign policy toward Iran, American politicians need to hear from Iranian-Americans. But what Congressman has tended to ignore for the past decade is that, what the US politicians have heard from certain Iranian-American lobby groups do not really reflect an accurate view of Iran, Iranians and for that matter Iranian-Americans.
Iranian lobby that operate inside the United States is a mixed and dangerous bag of Islamists and Communist sympathizers who do not care for the United States, Iran and Iranians. Islamists see the United States as the "Great Satan" and Iran as a conquered country and are busy at plundering our national wealth while the communist leaning Iranians despise the United States and Iran’s glorious past and see communist Cuba, Russia and China as models for Iran.
The cluelessness of Washington to the sophisticated and complicated IRI lobby was evident from the Secretary of State expressed on VOA that she was given the wrong information on Iran, by many of these so-called Iranian-Americans.
It is prudent to follow the money when it come Iranian politics. PDMI has always questioned the real reasons and motives behind certain IRI lobbyists and Iranian and American elite working together to shape the American policy. They have a lot to gain and a lot more to lose by decision made in Washington.
Iranian-Americans are puzzled when they see America, that once stood as the beacon of freedom and moral value, turns its back on pro democracy Iranians who poured onto the streets and shouted "Obama, Obama are you with them or with us?' America has been losing its moral imperative ever since President Carter advised by Brzezinski to turn its back on Iran its most loyal ally in the Middle East 33 years ago.
America's wrong headed policies will become more evident as the Arab Spring will begin to turn to Middle East’s doomed Fall, when the Muslim Brotherhood begins to take a foothold in the region.
